About Backcountry Chiropractic

Caring for people’s spines since 2000, Dr. Scott Feldenheimer set up his chiropractic office in beautiful Bend in 2015. He enjoys seeing patients of all ages and is passionate about providing chiropractic care that allows them to return to what they love in life.

Not a Cure or Quick Fix

Just as many people look to OTC or prescription medication as a quick fix others think that chiropractic is a cure. While chiropractic care doesn’t cure anything, the adjustment removes subluxation in the nervous system, allowing your body to function at its peak.

“I tell patients that what I do sets things in motion and every medication you need is supplied by your body, given the right parameters,” said Dr. Scott.

An Integral Part of the Wellness Puzzle

Clean eating. Working out. Getting restorative sleep. Just as these are important healthy lifestyle habits, getting adjusted is another essential part of the wellness puzzle. Chiropractic care can help you enjoy greater range of motion and function, less pain and an optimized immune system.

Providing Patient Education

An important part of what we do at Backcountry Chiropractic is provide information to our patients. Dr. Scott goes over a minimal report of findings to give patients a general idea of what it is we are attempting to correct (i.e. the subluxation). To do so, he uses models of the spine. We find that equipping our patients with information is empowering to them and helps them take an active role in their journey to better health.

Do I Have to Go Forever?

Many people think that once they go to the chiropractor they’ll have to make it a lifetime commitment. You may have been to other practices that required you to commit to a lengthy, cookie-cutter care plan of coming in three times a week for six weeks. That’s not the case here.

It’s always your choice as to how long you want to be under care. But it’s important to remember that if your body has been out of alignment for a long time-say many years-it’s going to take more than one visit to get better.

Consider this analogy of a piano that’s been out of tune for 25 years. If you tune that first string, by the time you get to the end of the piano, that first string has not held its tension. So you need to go back the next day, and ultimately it will hold.

Once your body has been restored to its functional state, maintenance chiropractic care can help you stay in that state. After all, prevention is better than cure!
